Cornish Heritage Farms Challenge

The newest challenge over at Cornish Heritage Farms is to create a card with black and white and only one more color (easier said than done - lol!) Here's mine using one of the floral images from the store together with one of the sentiments (it really is straight IRL)

Happy Saturday and Unscripted Sketches

Happy Saturday - I've done this ahead of time because we are up in Arlington visiting all the kids - having a big party at Becky's (Charlie's oldest daughter). My eldest Kim and her zoo (5 kids plus a couple of more), Charlie's kids, Becky and Randy and their families and Brandy and Jason - full house especially when you throw a bunch of family in there who live close. I'm hoping to get to stop and look at a few properties along the way. We are still looking for that perfect place that will convince us that we are ready to downsize from our dream house - having a little trouble with the idea of leaving our dream home. It just seems to get prettier the more I think about leaving.
Here's my card this week for Unscripted Sketches. Used some Authentique from their boy line - love their paper!

Core'dination's and Scrapbook Adhesives

Once again we have the chance to work with some fun products. This time it's Scrapbook Adhesives which is adhesives I use all the time. I can get them here at my LSS and love them. I've got a few cards here - using of course - Core'dinations cardstock.
Headed off this weekend to Arlington to visit my step-daughter and we are having a huge family party (lots of summer birthdays to celebrate). My oldest daughter will be there with her five together with some stragglers (kid's friends), both my hubbys daughter and son and their families, Brandy and her friend (daughter number four of mine) Liz and my son and his friend (son number two). We seem to adopt alot of kiddos here - bring them on as I say. No one wants to miss this party - last time we did it we had so much fun. There will be more cousins and family there that live up there as well. Lots of food, swimming ( she has a pool) and some great fun! Oh and I had to show off my crepe myrtle this year. Just started blooming and is going to town. I have about 15 around the house so expecting fabulous color this year - thanks to some unexpected July rain!

Saturday and CSI

Another week and another challenge over CSI - love these - help me so much to think outside of the box and use up some hidden scrap goodies as well.
Back to work tomorrow - may be dead after working Sun/mon/ wed/thurs! UGH - don't know who I made mad - lol. No really we are short so I understand I don't always get what I want.
These are my little great-nieces, Katy and Hailey, at a park in AZ a few years ago playing with another little girl.

Happy Saturday and Unscripted Sketches

This week over at Unscripted we have a new sketch and are continuing with our Christmas in July - stop over at the blog to get to know the DT and see the inspiration for this week. This week we added an additional challenge to use an animal on your card. I never use my Smooches stamps enough so took the opportunity to use one of this card. Papers are from Bella Blvd. Please scroll down if you are submitting cards or layouts for the Core'dination's crop - you have until tomorrow midnight to get your entries in.
I have to go back to work Sunday - they may kill me this week. Don't know how I got this schedule - I try to NEVER do more than two days in a row and granted they didn't but have me working Sun/Mon - then off ONE day and back for two more. These are 12 hour days - I leave the house at 5 am and get home at 8 pm. LONG days - non-functional for anything but work.

Happy Tuesday - First ever Core'dination's Blog Hop

Welcome to the very FIRST Hard Core Crop! We are so excited that you joined us. Each Design Team Member, plus a few guest designers, will be hosting challenges on their blogs and giving away a pack of Core’dinations Cardstock. For full Crop details please see the Core Blog here . Interested in a Guest Designer spot?! Learn how you could design for Core for the next three months here.

All entries must be linked using Mr. Linky to this blog post by July 22nd, 2012 at midnight EST. Cards and layouts are both welcome just make sure you follow the guidelines below.

My challenge is to create a layout or card using only Core'dination's cardstock. I really never thought I could do this but now I almost create every layout this way. Core has so many beautiful embossed papers and with your embossing machine and all the embossing folders out now it's easy! I will be giving away a prize packet of Core'dination's cardstock to one lucky winner who makes the biggest impression on how she (or he) can create with Core'dination's cardstock.

Don't forget to get check out the chatter over on Facebook at our Crop Event here (insert link here) https://www.facebook.com/events/170239803108178/

and crop rules here: http://www.coredinations.com/index.php/201...-rules-in-here/

Here's a page I did using only Core'dination's cardstock - sand it, embossing it - tear it - just show me your stuff!

CSI

Well got to play with the CSI challenge this weekend. Saturday went kayaking with my friend, Mac, out at Canyon Lake - we are getting pretty good at this. Started out with such smooth water we decided to head on out to a park we had gone to another week and before you know it we were farther than we had ever been - cruised around a little island and then worked our tails off to get back to the pier - great workout and I was some sore there the rest of the day but all gone now. Last night we had probably the worst thunderstorm we have had since we moved out here - the entrance to our subdivision was done by someone without a brain - instead of building a bridge OVER the dry creek bed - the road just goes down there so when we get too much rain at one time we have a major river running and no one goes in or out. Well we got somewhere between 6-8 inches in around an hour and it was raging! Course there were idiots down there thinking they would try to cross it anyway but luckily the cops came out and changed their minds - duh???? Luckily it was down by the time my son got off around midnight - ususally runs off when it quits raining if it hasn't been going on for days. BUT we had no electricity from around 7 pm until 2 am - hard to sleep when you are HOT! All's better today but my ice machine hasn't kicked in again - hope it didn't blow it out. Here's my page for CSI this week - lots of Core'dinations here. Be sure to check back here for the next few days as we are having a HUGE blog hop with lots of give-aways - get your Core ready and have fun. We had so much fun getting it all together and preparing our challenges.

Saturday and Unscripted Sketches

AAnother week and another new sketch over at Unscripted Sketches - please join us for our month long festival of Christmas in July - get to meet all the designers - each will have a day devoted to them. I'm off for a 5 day stretch and enjoying it ALOT - I don't know how when I've cut down my hours but I've got a horrible schedule for the rest of the month - working like four out of five days - hope I can live through them to enjoy the time off! Tomorrow - baring rain I'm going kayaking. Brandy's here for the weekend so we are LOVING that! She'll fly back out Sunday to Houston. My card is done with Authentique - love these papers!! Got them with a swap at Core'dinations and ended up going to two peas and ordering all they had!

Unscripted - Highlighting Design Team - ME!

This is Christmas in July month for Unscripted Sketches - each of us has been asked to pick a day to be spotlighted and since I'm a 13th birthday kid (May) I picked today. We each picked a room of our home to entertain you in so I picked our family "confence" room - this is where my hubby sits most days reading, where we have our friends come to sit and enjoy the outdoors and where we have all our important family conferences. The kids also will have friend's over and make a little fire in the pit there and sit out here and talk - we hangs lights everywhere here at Christmas - the trees and around the fences - we look alot like the Griswalds most Christmas as I'm know to hang in the neighborhood of 50+ strands of lights.

We also were each asked to answer a few of the questions she had posted so I picked these:

-What country/part of the country do you live in? If you could say one sentence about the area you live in, what would it be? I live in Texas so it's hot and dry down here which I personally love. We are fairly near the beach and have a lake within a short drive.

-You are going to be stuck alone in an elevator for a week. What do you bring to do? I'ld have to have a supply of books and if all possible would like to squeeze my scrap room in as well.

-Name one thing that turns your stomach. - coconut - can't stand it.
-
-What is your favorite hobby (aside from paper crafting)? I love to crochet and have probably made 50+ baby blankets for doctors and nurses I have worked with throughout the years. Unfortunately it has taken a toll on my hands and now I can only crochet a few rows a day but I'm still going strong - just have to get my mom to help me keep up.
-If you could have any meal for your birthday dinner (cost is not an issue) what would it be? Mexican food - ALWAYS wins with me!
-What is your secret vice? Peanut M & Ms

Here's a few Christmas pages I have made with some of my grandkids I thought I would share once again:

monday and CSI

This is this week's color combo challenge over at CSI. My granddaughter, Madison - can't claim credit for the photo - taken by J H Photography but I can for her - delivered her myself (in the front yard)!
LOVE these challenged - never thought I would pull this one out but once I got started it came together. I'm finding that I'm doing much better at digging into old stash and finding gems! This page has some old Heidi Swapp Rub ons I know I've probably had ten years - some AC flowers that I had to dust off the bottle they were so old and then found the grey tape from PP that I had almost forgot I had - now I also spent a good half hour looking for some grey narrow lace that I could swear I saw last week - but never found it. The journaling cards I just got in from an order from Archiever's from Prima - am so happy with them. The title I was struggling with to use the "one word" from Fancy Friday since I couldn't figure out how to incorporate anything else into the testimony part of the challenge - it was literally on the back side of one of the pieces of MME that I had cut off for something else on the page. This is probably the first page in years I have done using all PP - excluding photo backing and a little here and there I hardly used and cardstock- my norm is to grab Core'dinations and move from there but the colors just made be grab some MME.
Journaling about how much Madison has grown from a shy quiet little girl who would rather like in lala "Madi World" into a confident, charming young lady.
Evidence: Flowers, scallops, something transparent (there are a couple of clear buttons under the colored ones) metal (brads)
Testimony: One Word title
Thanks so much for looking and thanks Debbi for the challenge!
