Monday

Been a long weekend - sorry to be posting to late for Saturday's challenge. Here's my card for Unscripted Sketches this week. I really am not sure where I got this digital - it was recently but for the life of me I can't remember - papers are Echo Park.

Then here's my card for this week over at Designed 2 Delight - the challenge is to use a Designed 2 Delight image with buttons. Papers are My Mind's Eye.
Then I have some pictures to share of the family from the funeral. My ex-Father-in-Law died last week (my two older girl's grandfather). He was very special to them. We were so disappointed in the funeral. The focus of the entire funeral was on second wife - girl's were hardly mentioned and their father who died five years ago wasn't even mentioned as part of his family. Very distressful to find out the secret life he held while they lived in awe of their grandfather. And after having held inheritance over their head their whole lives he left everything to wife #2. Not that they expected it or wanted it - they just wanted to know that they were important to him as his only granddaughters. Here are a few pictures from the wedding. I have alway remained very close to all these people even though I was divorced from the family when the girls were small. I even talked to their grandfather on his birthday in June. We were able to bring everyone together to my house on Friday so had a great visit.

These are my three girls together.

These are all the grand childred (mine) plus little Lynlee who was in heaven all weekend with all the kids to play with.
And these are Kim and her kids - all growing up way too fast for me!

Thanks for stopping by.

Saturday again!

WOW another LONG week - trauma is on the rise this summer and then you add in that it's July (new interns and each resident moves up to a new and more stressful position). On top of that my Father in Law (from my first marriage but my only father in law) died on Wed. He had been beating the clock with his heart for a year or two but fell in the bathroom - on Coumadin- and died of a massive head bleed.I will miss him dearly. Funeral is next Thursday. My middle daughter and her family should be here from Georgia about Wed. Then we all leave again for Fort Worth for my husband's birthday party on Friday.
This week over at Unscripted Sketches this sketch inspired me to tackle a page with it. I like never do a layout with a card sketch but that's where this one led me. Everything is Core'dinations - love this background paper - Cosmo Cricket collection.

Then over at For Your Inspiration Steph has this beautiful photo for inspiration. Here's my interpretation of it.

I have tons to get done this week and hoping to find time to do it all.

Sunday and CPS

Hey everyone how was your weekend. Took Charlie to his aunt's 85th birthday party at her church up in Cleburne - 4 hours away AGAIN!. Not really more than a couple of people under about 70 and that was way on the youngest side of things. TALK--- OMG-- I was tired of listening - anything and everything. BUT she's one heck of lady - still fiesty as she can be and enjoys living. Loved staying overnight with her - she's a creative genius in her little house - it's just adorable. I made this card for the CPS sketch this week - some Core'indations and a stamp I got up at Kim's - grr can't remember which one -w ill have to check.

Thanks for stopping by - picking up Brandy from the airport tomorrow - YEAH!!! Hope to get back to scrapping by the end of the week - at least this weekend there is no traveling. I'm exhausted!

Saturday and Unscripted Sketches

This week over at Unscripted Sketches we have this awesome sketch. Unfortunately I read things wrong and this was to be a piggyback challenge to make this a Christmas card as well. Seeing as how my month has been a long drive every weekend and work all week as well as keeping up with hubby still on crutches I haven't had time to make another card. So here's mine with Basic Grey papers and some prima flowers. This is also our annual month long celebration of Christmas in July - each day we have something special for you so be sure and stop by.

OH and guess what??? There's some more new releases up on the Core'dinations blog. This week we have some new papers to show - The Spotted Tillie Dot. How yum does it get!!! Together with the new Tim Holtz Kraft Core I think I'm going to be in Cardstock heaven!

Thanks for stopping by - hoping to get a little time to scrap Sunday night but not holding my breath - maybe next weekend!

Random Acts of Creativity

Here's an adorable image from Designed 2 Delight that I have used for Chupa's sketch this week over at Random Acts of Creativity. Cardstock is Core'dinations - papers are Echo Park.

Our little Brayden came home from the hospital yesterday - such a trooper! We are so blessed with him. AND Brandy is flying home Monday evening -cannot wait to see her and so glad to have her back from California even if it's just for a few years!

Thanks for stopping by!

Monday!

Well it's been a long week plus - got Charlie to Fort Worth to the dentist last week - took him to the doctor today PLUS spent about 2-3 hours at the college trying to get Jason straighted out with his classes. Once - just ONCE I would love a "me" weekend. BUT we also just got fabulous news that little Brayden made it through his heart cath - got two stents and is doing well. They will keep him intubated overnight just to keep him still but then he should be home in a couple of days. They said this should last him 5- 10 years - MAN I hope so. This little trouper has been through some major ordeals and he's only 4 years old - three open heart procedures and several heart caths. But he's happy - loves life and keeps our hearts overflowing that he's here!
First off I have a card for the Card Patterns this week. Love this stamp by Paper Works and just never find enough chances to use it. The papers are from Jillibean.

Then over at Core'dinations this month we have started a color challenge. Look at these yummy colors. LOVED working with this. Here's my page with my granddaughter, Madison (r) and her friend.
And if that's not all one of the new releases and sneaks has been announced. We (Core'dinations) has teamed up once again with Tim Holtz for some fabulous papers. AND drum-roll - they have 24 gorgeous colors with a KRAFT!!! base. Could life be sweeter! Here's a layout from Tim Holtz showing off some of the new patterns that are coming out. Check out the Core'dinations blog for more exciting details and more of the DT's layouts and cards using the July color challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sunday Sharing

I had to take my husband to Fort Worth for a dental appointment on Thursday and spent Thursday and Friday at my daughter Kim's - always fun when we get a little time to scrap together. I enjoy playing with her toys and she has as much fun with mine. One of these days we will be close enough to share but for now we enjoy when we can. I got three cards knocked out and she got a couple and didn't seem like we were back there any time at all. Looked over the property next to her that my second daughter owns and that we are going to buy and looked for a house site - found a perfect one! Course I'm about ready to chew nails driving my hubby around - he's a control freak with the car and everyone but him is incompetent behind the wheel. Course he drives us insane as well as he's getting older and drives like a snail.

Since I was out of town I'm just now getting to do my post for Unscripted Sketches for this week - here's the sketch and my take. Used some Jillibean papers together with some of my new Smooches stamps on this one.

Next I have my card for CPS this week - a little stretch on the sketch but this is where I went with it. Core'dinations papers and a stamp set I pulled from Kim's stash from My Favorite Things.
LOVE the color palette this week over at Color Combo Galore. Right up there on my favorites with lots of bright color. I had the perfect photos just sitting here on my desk. My sister had just sent these to me of her granddaughter's, Hailey and Katy, taken a couple of years ago at Christmas. Of course all Core'dinations papers here together with some Martha Stewart and Prima flowers.

Hope to get to some more today and tomorrow but will see. Please keep my little great-nephew, Brayden, in your prayers - he has another heart cath tomorrow. One brave little guy - four years old and three open heart procedures as well as several other procedures. We pray this will be the last for awhile - he needs a chance to just be a little boy!
