Saturday and Unscripted Sketches

Sorry to be late but we took off at the last minute to Corpus to spend a little time with our youngest daughter and sooo glad we did! We had a wonderful time with her and her friend's. Spend yesterday morning on a little shopping spree - forgot how much fun it is to shop with Brandy - she SOOOO loves getting new things! I got a little for myself as well. Then we had a nice lunch and spent the rest of the afternoon sitting in the sun chatting with her and her friend. Then a couple of evenings out with Brandy and her friends - course they left us in the dust about 10 pm every evening when we turned in to pumpkins and went home to bed! But a great time and great to get away - decided we have to do this at least once a month!
Sorry I'm posting late but we left in a hurry and forgot to post ahead. Here's my card for Unscripted Sketches this week.

Totally forgot to post about my page for CSI last week - did this page of my granddaughter, Makenna for the color and inspirational challenge.

Thanks ever so much for stopping by!

Saturday and Unscripted Sketches and some Core'dination's

Well it's Saturday and time for a new sketch over at Unscripted Sketches! First I have to tell you how my last couple of weeks went. To say I'm exhausted is putting it mild and I have to go back to work tomorrow for my regular schedule again which is Sun, Mon and Wed (those are 12 hour days and I live an hour away from work). I had switched my schedule around to try to get a few days at the beach and when that fell through the person I had switched with decided she would just like to keep the switch and not change back to my regular schedule. SO with that said I ended up working Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun, Mon, Wed AND then at 4 :50 am on Thurs got a call that I was called in for another 12!!! I had totally forgotten that was my "on call" day and sure enough someone had called in. Until about 10 am I would have just dropped and cried if anything had gone wrong - after about 10 I finally got in gear again and made it through the rest of the day just fine. BUT now I only had two days to recover and now I'll head back to my regular schedule tomorrow. Twelve hour days are hard as a young nurse - as the oldest nurse in my unit they can be a killer if I don't get time to recover in between. It's not that I don't love my job- I do and going back this time has been very rewarding - families really appreciate my experience and my age but it's when I get home that I realize how tired I get.
BUT on to more important things on a Saturday morning! I have a sketch and a couple of cards and a layout for you today. Got more on my desk that I hope to get to as well.
First off is my card for Unscripted Sketches. I used a cute Smooches stamp with some Echo Park (I am going to get through some of my stash as I have a trip to Archiever's planned in a couple of weeks).

Next up is the color challenge for March this month over at Core'dination's. I love the greens on this color pallet and it seems so appropriate for this month.
Then the question was brought up over on the Design Team blog as to whether or not any of us had printed on the Pearls cardstock so I gave it a try and it worked beautifully. The stamp is another of my Smooches stamps. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day. OH the good part of last week was that while I was working my kitchen was getting done - new texture and paint. All I have left to do is the trim and then the back entry and pantry/laundry room! Looking good!

Wednesday and CSI

Oh wow - this last week has kicked my A!!! One more day and then I have three off - hope that's enough to recover! I don't get tired when I'm at work but when I'm headed home wow - knocks me out! BUT I had today off and dh said - don't think you are doing anything but chilling. So here I am in my scrap room looking for something to do. Oh yeah - no problem! Found this inspiration over at CSI where I have wanted to get started playing again - I totally love color challenges! I found a layout on Pinterest that inspired me with the layout and used the colors and the challenged at CSI to create this page of my adorable granddaughter, Makenna!

Used some Core'dinations together with some pp from a Noel Mignon kit. Note the new Core'dination's tags - aren't they awesome!

Saturday and Unscripted Sketches

Saturday again and half way through my horrible schedule! I worked Mon, Wed and Fri - off today and back for Sun/Mon and Wed this week. I'm brain dead but functioning. Trying to enjoy a little time with Brandy while she's here and keeping up with my exercise. Pretty proud of myself - of the 5 1/2 miles I usually walk I'm running probably 3/4th of it. Brandy harps on me that I need to spend more time at the gym working out with weights and less time on the road but it's so easy to just put on my running shoes and head out.
But here's my card for Unscripted Sketches this week. I really like how it turned out. It was not the first card I made but when I went to post it I had missed the added challenge to use green so I went back and came up with this. This is some gorgeous May Arts Ribbon I got last year and would die to find more of - I just love how it looks. The papers are Basic Grey sentiment tag is a Spellbinders and the flower is Prima.

And here's my sketch for the Sketchabilities sketch this week.Hope you enjoy your day - thanks for stopping by!

Thursday and Creative Scrappers

Decided I needed a little scrappy therapy today so found this sketch over at Creative Scrappers to play with. I hunted down these photos of my little grandson, Kadin and pulled out some Core'dination's Cosmo Cricket cardstock and some Crate Paper pp to use.

Back to work tomorrow - this week and first part of next is going to kill me. On a day off a day for a week and a half then my FABULOUS three days off and back to my regular schedule. Starting late May I'm going down to a committed 24hr/wk but will probably work a little more - will see how the money goes! Thanks for stopping by!

For your Inspiration

Well I have a horrible schedule this week - work every other day - yuck! Brandy came home for a few days this afternoon and we all went for lunch. Right now they are working on my kitchen - getting it textured but OH MAN does it stink! Something about the type of primer they have to use. BUT it's getting done and that means I can paint it next week and get it back to normal in there. YEAH!
Time for another photo inspirational challenge over at For your Inspiration. Steph has this fabulous one for us this time.
and here's my interpretation of it. I used some Core'dination's Jenni Bowlin on this together with a Nina Bracket Stamp. Thanks for stopping by!

Hope you have a wonderful day - thanks for stopping by.

Friday and Creative Scrappers

Happy Friday - actually have the entire weekend off this week but a horrible schedule next week to make up for it. We were going to go to the coast these four days but got cancelled so just here at home. Did some cleaning and packing in the kitchen today in anticipation of the drywall (?) guy coming next week to texture it for me. YEAH. Then comes painting again but I can deal with that. Yesterday I got out this new toy that I got from Prima - it looks like my foot dry skin sander but it's marvelous with Core'dination's cardstock! Found this sketch over at Creative Scrappers and was inspired to play along. Used nothing but Core'dination's here - some Cosmo Cricket and some Tim Holtz Kraft. Flowers are prima and some I made from a die cut from Tim Holtz and from another company that I can't find the name of right now.

Saturday and Unscripted Sketches

As always my three days is ending today and I always hate to see it be over but OOOOOH do I enjoy three days off in a row. Not doing much this week - getting a little scrapping done - alot of time wasting and a little shopping. Went and got a couple of Mountain Laurel to go outside my bathroom window and ordered a bunch of plants to pick up next week. Getting ready for Spring and encouraged by all the rain am hoping that we don't have a dry summer again. I have a gorgeous California Jasmine that hangs over a metal arch to our little sitting corral out front - it has managed to climb way up to the top of the elms around it - this year though it's only blooming it's little heart out WAY up in the top of the trees - no blooms at all down here around the arch! Oh well. Here's my card today for Unscripted Sketches!
I simply used the back side of my Core'dination's cardstock and stamped with a Smooches stamp for my sentiment and then a Stamp Box stamp for my flowers - added some Queen & Company bling.

For your Inspiration

Once again it's time for more inspiration from For Your Inspiration. I love creating from these photos - leaves so much to the imagination. For mine I used some Core'dination's cardstock of course and a stamp from Penny Black. Also used some Tim Holtz ink on this - love this stuff! Please join us with your creations and interpretation!

Thanks for stopping by. My UPS man was a little shocked when I met him on the road today jumping up and down because he had a box for me with some fabulous Core'dinations. WAS so excited to see all my new goodies!
