Friday cards

Couple of cards for you today before I head back to work tomorrow. Success yesterday - drove Brandy down to Corpus to look for her a place to live when she starts back on her Master's in January and found a really nice new and clean and affordable apartment right down from A & M across from the beach. It's a four bedroom unit - she gets her own bedroom and bath and then shares the common room and kitchen with the others - washer and dryer, has a gym, pool, locked gates, etc. Her only demand was she was rooming ONLY with boys - doesn't want any girl drama!
Today I have a card for the sketch at Card Patterns which week. Used a Unity Stamp with some Core'dinations cardstock for this one - Jenni Bowlin line.

Then here's another card I did with the new stamps sets I got from There She Goes - such pretty flower stamps! Older sketch from Taylored Expressions. My Mind's Eye papers.

October Color Challenge at Core'dinations!

Check out the color challenge this month at Core'dinations - the Design Team has totally ROCKed this!!! We were challenge to do decorative designs with this color challenge but I couldn't resist making this card as well as the bag with the flowers!

For this I used some flowers I learned to make over at Heidi Van Lear's blog as a well as some of the new Petaloo flowers that use Core colors and a cute image from Designed 2 Delight. Have to give credit to Heidi Van Lear for the flower tutorial for the loopy flowers. The rest are from Petaloo and Cuttlebug die cuts. My bats and tombstone are from images off the web.

Sunday Cards

Wow two days isn't as good as three off - but will go back tomorrow for two more! Had a great weekend - went to lunch with Charlie and Brandy yesterday and then today went to the gym (killed me), tore wallpaper off the bathroom and then went and walked. The wallpaper in the shower and toilet stall actually peeled off - well like 75% of it did - I was doing the happy dance for sure! Almost done and then ready to texture and paint. Hopefully the last wallpaper project I have to do - then it's just painting and cleaning out.
Today I have a couple of cards - got some new stamps from There She Goes Stamps and love them. Couldn't wait to use some. Pulled out some old Dream Street papers and made these. The first one is for the sketch over at The Sweet Stop.

The second card is for the sketch at Sketch Saturday. Again another stamp set from There She Goes Stamps.

I have a couple of more on my desk but haven't finished them yet. thanks for stopping by.

Saturday and Unscripted Sketches

Getting back in the groove of the ICU again - managing now to pretty well keep up with two patients (which wasn't really the problem) and the charting (which WAS the BIG problem!) My preceptor for the day is working on her Master's program and was wondering how long we can prolong this preceptorship - she might be able to get all her homework done! I'm hoping they give me another week or so until I've taken a few new admits and such. The charting is what kills me.
Here's my card for Unscripted Sketches this week. Core'dinations Cardstock and Smooches stamps.

Saturday and Unscripted sketches

Well had my first two days back in the ICU Monday and Tuesday and it was trial by fire! Day one - open OR in my room - patient too sick to go to the OR. Day two we coded him all morning. BUT I love being back - love working with old friends again and especially love the two one three off schedule. I had forgotten how wonderful it was to have days off during the week - going to the shopping mall and not having to hurry to beat the traffic! A W E S O M E! This week my project was to clean out my closet and after eight bags of clothes headed their way to the Good Will store I can see bottom. Still have some books to go through but mostly done! I'm off to work this weekend - two days then three more off.
Here's my card for Unscripted Sketches this week. The additional challenge is to use material on your card. I had some burlap that worked well. The pattern paper is from Echo Park - love this collection.

Then here's a card I did for my step-daughter for her birthday next week with some Smooches stamps - I never have enough time to play with them and I'm on their monthy plan so am accumulating alot of them.

Thanks for stopping by - have been doing some layouts but they are for Core'dinations so you will need to keep your eye out for some of the upcoming product presentations the Design Team has been getting ready for you.

Saturday

WOW has been a busy Saturday already - Brandy woke me up and drug me along with her to her Gym which is HUGE! Worked out - got home around 10 - got dressed went to grocery store (lOVE going when it's busy and my husband gets frustrated because he can't get down the isles - lol) then came home and have been getting ready to go a wedding this afternoon - friend at work is getting married. Yesterday I went and bought not one but two new dresses and shoes for this - first time in YEARS I have bought a dress. But I'm set and ready to go now so I will finally post my Saturday cards that should have been up at 6 am!
First off is my card for For Your Inspiration this week. We were sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps - aren't they cute!!!

Then I have my card for Unscripted Sketches this week as well. Here I used an old Noel Mignon kit together with a C. C. Stamp I hadn't used before to make a little Halloween Card!

Wednesday cards

This week is just flying by and I HATE that - my last week off. Monday I'm back to the ICU- will have to re-orient for a little while since I haven't done beside nursing for almost 8-9 years now. I know What to do just don't imagine I have much time management going for me and I don't know where anything is or how to play with all the new toys. BUT I had such a HUGE to - do list and I'm nowhere near done. Got my dining room painted, my bathroom wall paper stripped - then spackled for texture and then painted and the trim painted. Today I tackled my bedroom - it's BIG - give you a hint - it's going to take 4 gallons of paint although one of those is because I had a wall sage and now I'm painting it off white so two coats there and then one for the ceiling. Then will need to trim it to. BUT I've had these cards done and wanted to share.
First off is the card I made for Card Patterns this week. I've combined some Basic Grey with Core'dinations cardstock and added a SRM sticker.

The next card is for The Sweet Stop sketch this week. For this I used one of Faith's new stamps by Whipper Snapper Designs - isn't it cute! Echo Park papers and the sentiment by Smooches stamps.

Then this last card is a card I did for Designed 2 Delight - probably out this week using one of Faith's digital stamps. Again Echo Park Papers.
Thanks for stopping by - I'm hoping I can move tomorrow - doesn't feel too hopeful right now. I've lost 5 pounds these last few weeks staying home working at home. Must be good for me!

Tuesday

WOW never thought time could fly by so fast but this is my last week of three off and I can't tell you how bad I hate to see it end - but it shouldn't be quite as bad only working two off three and back again. Will see. First I was in Houston watching Brandy dance at Monster's of Hip Hop - WOW LA taught her alot - she rocked! Enjoyed it and got to see a couple of girls she danced with during HS who came - both now married. Couldn't fix this on my phone but my Saturday post didn't post so here's my card for Unscripted Sketches.
Used some Echo Park for this one together with a new stamp I just got from Whipper Snapper Designs. - Oh my word they are adorable stamps! D2D's Faith has some coming out too but they didn't have any of hers in yet at Archievers but I found this one called Yin and Yang!

Then yesterday I was doing some work for Core'dinations and still had these pictures I printed out so did this sketch from Creative Scrappers. More of the Echo Park - not usually my thing to use the stickers but they were just right for this one. The cutie is Cason - my little great-nephew.
Thanks for stopping by! Off to decide on my next project to work on around here and see if I can finish up one more before going back to work.
