Friday -

Here's my card for the sketch over at The Sweet Stop this week - I know I'm late but can't even tell you what kind of week this has been - so glad it's OVER. BUT now I need to clean my house - Brandy graduates next weekend and my Mother (white glove!) and family will all be here so have to do some cleaning! Papers are American Craft (some old in my stash), SRM sticker. Oh and I don't guess it's a sticker but they have asked me to be the Guest Designer for May so am going to be doing cards for them all month long!

Thanks for stopping by - more tomorrow!

Sunday and CPS and another Core'dinations page

For the CPS sketch this week I used some Core'dinations cardstock together with a sheet of Jillibean paper. The stamps are from the Lovely Shelf collection by Nina Brackett which are so pretty! Copic markers!

Then I did another page for Core'dinations with the new Core Amour Onyx collection. This is my little great-nephew, Brayden, who has already had three open heart surgeries in his short three years. His Cardiologist nominated him for Make a Wish and they came and saw him last week and granted his wish. He wanted to go along with his cousins (who had plans to go) to Disney World this summer.

Saturday - lots to share!

Happy Saturday! It's beautiful here today - thundered all night but don't know if we got much rain out of it. Today lovely! Trying to get some stuff done - next weekend I'm going to have to concentrate on doing one of those down and dirty cleaning days in preparation of Brandy's graduation on the 8th. Can't believe she's graduating. She'll be 21 at the end of this month.

First of all I wanted to let everyone who stops by here know that they need to get on over to Cardvarks and check out the wonderful inpiration that their design team has put together in coordiation with Core'dinations. Awesome work girls! Cardvarks and Core’dinations have combined to bring you a fabulous challenge and a great opportunity - read here to see about it!

CARDVARKS AND CORE'DINATIONS

Good morning Everyone!

We have some really exciting news to share today. Core’dinations and Caardvarks have teamed up for an exciting challenge:

THE PRIZE: You can be a part of the Core’dinations talented design team! The winner will receive a 3 month guest designer spot on the design team, and receive a generous variety of Core’dinations cardstock to work with.

THE CHALLENGE: Create a *new* monochromatic card and enter it via Mr. Linky {via the Caardvarks blog} at the end of this post by May 3rd a

t Midnight, PST.

You must head over to the Caardvarks blog for more information on where to post your finished card by May 3rd midnight PST.

Also, make sure you check out the Caardvarks/Core’dinations Gallery here for tons of awesome inspiration. Their design team did some AmaZinG things with Core’dinations!

Also wanted to show you a page I just did today with some of the new paper lines Core'dinations has come out with. The background paper is a new line Core'dinations is doing with Cosmo Cricket and the other pieces of cardstock are part of the new Core Amour Onxy collection which is just so much fun. It's beautiful just as it is but sand it and it pulls up more embossed images that are hiding - gorgeous! I created by flower by embossing a plain sheet of Core'dinations cardstock, then sanding it and then used two spellbinder's scalloped circles and cut several of two different sizes. I stacked them, added a brad in the center and then scrunched them up and sanded a little more on the edges.

Next I wanted to share my card for Card Patterns this week. What a fun sketch - check out their blog to see all the inspirational cards from the Design Team. Last week was my week to pick the top 6 and I can't tell you what a horrible time I had picking - there were so many wonderful cards. I wish I could have picked them all!

For my card I used some papers from American Crafts together with some Core'dinations cardstock which I embossed with my Cuttlebug folder and then used some Unity Stamps which I paper pieced for my little cycle!

The next card I have is from Sketch Saturday. I was so inspired by the bows on Jeanette's card that I incorporated it into mine. I needed a card for my youngest granddaughter's birthday next week so this was perfect. The papers are Scenic Route (snif snif) and the image is Little Mimosa.

The last card is done for Delightful Inspirations challenge and Faith's adorable little digital freebie this week.

Saturday with Unscripted Sketches

This week at Unscripted Sketches we have a double challenge for you. First of all is the sketch - then we've added another challenge if you want to join in (or make your card without the extra challenge if you want to also) - use a recycled item. For mine I racked my brain for a week and then decided to go through the kitchen until I found something. Well first thing I opened was the spice cabinet and there was the salt container - perfect! Add some awesome Core'dination cardstock - emboss it and some stitching and it just about made itself. We also would like to invite you to join us on a little blog hop through some of the Design Team members blogs and check out what they have in store for you today.

If you get lost along the way you can always start out at Unscripted Sketches but from here you will go to see Irit.

Thursday and Cardvarks and Core'dinations!

Was thrilled when I stopped in at Cardvarks and saw that Core'dinations is the featured sponser for this challenge. Monochromatic - sure Core'dinations is awesome with making cards like this. Even if you go from one Core'dinations paper line (ie core - vs Black Magic vs White Wash, etc) you can match your colors together. I did a couple of card for you - the first with only Core'dinations Core papers and a Cuttlebug Embossing folder and a SRM sticker.

The second card is done using some Core'dinations Core paper together with some of the new papers core'dinations has combined with Cosmo Cricket to give this awesome texture. On the Cosmo paper I sanded slightly to add a little of the lighter shade. For my flowers I took different shades of my paper, embossed them and then ran them through the Cuttlebug using some Spellbinders. Then I sanded them, tore them a little and scrunched them up. For my leaves I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then sanded the image and cut it out. The strip across is done with the White Wash collection. I used a Score Pal and scored it and then sanded the ridges.Ok it's Friday but just decided to add this sketch onto the same post. Here's my take on the sketch at Delightful Sketches. When I saw this and the DT's examples I pulled out some Kim Hughes stamps I have from Cornish Heritage Farms and created this little card using some Piggy Tails papers.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you try some Core'dinations papers and see how much fun they are!

Tuesday - 2 Sketches 4 you

Decided to give myself a break from exercise today and come home and scrap a little. Been working out every day for 4 days in a row and every 4-5 days I need a break and it's a beautiful afternoon! I have the two cards I did last night for 2 Sketches 4 you this week. First off I did Laura's card and decided the sketch was perfect for some of the new Core Amour! All the papers here come from the Sable Collection - yum - the are wonderful whether you use them as is or if you sand them and find the hidden images underneath. The flowers are some new prima I picked up at the LSS the other day and the little bird is from a Glitz collection of stickers. Letter stickers are Webster's Pages. I showed a close up where I used the Score-Pal to score lines in my strip just to give it more texture.

Then I have another card for the bonus sketch. I pulled out some really old Luxe papers I had after I decided to use this little stamp from Stamping Bella. Marker's are Copic and bling is from Glitz. The flower is of course Prima.
Thanks for dropping by and off to see if I can squeeze in just a little more alone time and make another card!

Sunday - where did the weekend go?????

The weekend went way too quick. This week is Fiesta here in San Antonio and for me as a critical care nurse it means we will be SOOOO busy. Fiesta means drinking - that ususally comes with stabbing and fighting here in San Antonio so the emergency room will be full. Being the only level one trauma center in this part of South Texas we stay busy so this just adds to the current level of busy. But it will be over in another week and then it will start graduation parties. Both my kiddos will graduate this year - Brandy from College, Jason from High School (well we are going on this one day by day). Most of what I got done this weekend was for Design Team work so can't share quite yet. First of all here I have my CPS sketch. I used the opportunity to start on Birthday Cards for all the May birthday's we have - all 3 of my girls, 2 grandkids and my sister's son-in-law - oh yeah and almost forgot the most important one - mine! Plus mother's day! I used some of my prized Dream Street for this one and this adorable image - wish I could remember where I got it to give credit. Core'dinations cardstock and Copic's markers. Perfect for a little boy!

The next card covers two challenges - the sketches from The Sweet Stop and the image from Delightful Inspirations - Faith's sketch. For this I pulled out some Scenic Route papers - I really hate seeing these two awesome paper companies go out of business - have always loved both lines. The sticker is SRM which has become my favorite go too and Core'dinations cardstock and Copic Markers.

Thanks for stopping by.

Rainy Saturday!

It has rained all week so haven't been able to get any decent pictures or spend much time home. I usually like to walk at home a few days a week (quicker than the gym) but this week has been gym all the way since it's been raining every single day when I get home.
Here's some cards I did for the 2 sketches 4 you sketches this week. I actually did two cards for this first sketch. The first one I did with some Jillibean papers.

On the second card I did with the sketch I used some of the new Core'dinations Gemstones collection. I love this - you can sand it just leave it plain like I did. It has a creamy shiny surface that just looks so elegant. The clears are from Making Memories and the rub'ons from Creative Imaginations. The next card is the bonus sketch and I used some Scenic Route for this one - yum - I'm going to miss them so much!

Then this week at Card Patterns. I want to show you my card I did with some of the latest Crate Paper line. Love these last two lines they came out with. Stamps are from Unity Stamp Company.

Saturday

First off today I have my card for Unscripted Sketches. For this I used some of my Crate Papers and a new stamp I got from Unity Stamp Company. Love this stamp! The button is from Jillibean.

Then this week's card sketch over at The Sweet Stop inspired me to use my new Nina Brackett stamps and some old Daisy Bucket papers I had.
Ok I'm coming back to edit this post and add one more card today. This is a sketch I found over at Taylored Expression. Still working with more of this same line of Crate Paper and used an Imaginisce stamp I had, a little paper piecing. Can you tell I've really been into the sewing lately. Seems like I want to sew on every card. Now if I could get that much enthusiasm for getting my new slacks hemmed I might be able to wear them next week.

Thanks for looking!

Friday scrapping

Happy Friday! So glad to have a day off! I get one once every two weeks and this is my good week. Today was beautiful outside but chilly this morning so started off in the gym. Then I did two huge loads of towels - the boys cannot get through their heads that they can use a towel more than once!!!! Today I decided to play at 2 sketches 4 you using Laura's card and used an adorable image I got from Delightful Inspirations. The papers are from Best Creations and actually has little clouds in it - the sticker is SRM - man I love these stickers. Cardstock is of course Core'dinations.

The next card is Shanna's card at 2 sketches 4 you and I used some of the new Core'dinations Gemstones collections together with some American Crafts papers and a new stamp I just got by Nina Brackett my co-designer at Card Patterns. Her stamps are amazing by the way!
Last of all here is a page I just did with yet another of the new lines from Core'dinations called Core'Amour. This is the Onyx collection - the entire collection is just amazing - there are so many surprises when you sand it. It needed so little to finish the page - almost did itself. The adorable little subjects are my sister's grandkids, Brayden (our 3 heart surgery survivor!), Katy and Hailey.
